At StageAurora.org, we are committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in all aspects of our organization. We believe that the performing arts have the power to inspire, educate, and transform individuals and communities, and it is our responsibility to ensure that everyone has equal access and opportunities to participate and engage in our work.

The Bylaws of Stage Aurora Theatrical Company, Inc. in Section 2.2 (Nondiscrimination) state that: “The purposes, functions and services of the Corporation shall be administered without regard or condition as to the race, religion, gender or national origin of any affected person”. Stage Aurora’s Board adopted an explicit Diversity Policy on July 12, 2003.

We strive to create a safe and welcoming space where all individuals, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or socioeconomic background, feel valued, respected, and included. We actively seek out and promote diverse voices, perspectives, and experiences, recognizing that this enriches the artistic and cultural landscape.

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that embraces and celebrates differences. This includes providing accessible and inclusive programming, removing barriers to participation, and promoting representation both on and off the stage. We are committed to addressing and challenging systemic biases, discrimination, and inequities within our organization and the broader performing arts community.

Through our productions, educational initiatives, and community outreach programs, we aim to promote social justice, challenge stereotypes, and amplify underrepresented voices. We collaborate with diverse artists, cultural organizations, and community partners to create meaningful and impactful experiences that reflect the diversity of our society.

We understand that achieving true DEI requires ongoing learning, active listening, and continuous improvement. We actively engage in self-reflection, education, and dialogue to better understand and address issues of privilege, power, and systemic oppression. We encourage open and honest conversations, and we are committed to creating a culture of accountability, transparency, and growth.

We invite all members of our community to join us in our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Together, we can create a vibrant and inclusive arts community that fosters understanding, empathy, and positive social change.
